The Children’s Choir of the Athens Music School, which is just one year old running on a Greek public school with only 3 years of operation, managed an important cultural achievement.
During the 3rd International Kalamata Choir Competition and Festival, organized by the Municipality of Kalamata and the international cultural organization Interkultur on Thursday 9-13 October 2019, among 38 choirs from 15 countries and over 1.200 choir members, the Children’s Choir of the Athens Music School was awarded the gold medal.
This award gives the choir the right to participate in European and International Competitions as well as the Choir Olympiad, starting in Flanders, Belgium, in July 2020.
Forty-six young girls, many of whom are just starting out in music, stand out for their faith, dedication and love for choral singing. “They sing for their dreams and their existence”, says their teacher and inspirator Nikos Prigas.
